Meet Dr. Tohill, Medical Director
Growing up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dr. Tohill developed a lifelong love for animals through the dogs and cats that were part of his family. Before marrying his wife, Marie, he rescued a deaf Dalmatian named Tic Tac, who became a beloved family pet alongside four cherished cats over the years.
Dr. Tohill graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Shortly after graduation, he joined his classmates and lifelong friends, Dr. Adam Ainspan and Dr. Jay Margolis,to help establish what would become Veterinary Innovation Partners. Throughout his career, he worked at four different animal hospitals, building extensive experience in companion animal medicine.
In 2000, Dr. Tohill became the Medical Director at Chantilly Animal Hospital, where many of his loyal clients followed him. During his time there, he helped grow the practice into a highly respected hospital known for outstanding patient care and numerous five-star client reviews. With over 36 years of veterinary experience, he has developed expertise in dentistry, ultrasonography, and echocardiography. His compassion, patience, attentive listening, and dedication to both pets and their families have earned him the trust of countless clients. He also proudly partnered with the rescue organization A Forever Home for many years, helping animals find loving homes.
In 2024, Dr. Tohill, his wife Marie of more than 30 years, and their special-needs son, Joyful Martin, relocated to Front Royal to be closer to their daughters, son-in-law, and granddaughter. He is excited to serve as Medical Director at Linden Heights Animal Hospital, where he looks forward to building lasting relationships with pets and their families. Many former clients have already made the trip to continue receiving Dr. Tohill’s trusted care, a testament to the relationships he has built throughout his career. He is committed to treating every pet with the same compassion and attention he would want for his own.
